Shale gas is unlikely to be extracted from Manx waters before 2020.
That’s according to the Economic Development Minister.John Shimmin says while exploration work has showed there is shale gas in our territorial waters there is a lot of work to be done before it can be utilised.
He says his department is following developments closely but that it won’t be an easy option:
