No plans to reduce number of local authorities

There are no plans to reduce the number of local authorities on the Isle of Man.

That's the message from the Department of Infrastructure which says it's not actively trying to bring down numbers.

The topic was raised in Tynwald this week by Douglas Central MHK Ann Corlett:

Minister Ray Harmer said it's clear there is a need for authorities to look at ways of working together more effectively and with government.
