An Island heritage organisation says it won't be buying a historic police station in the south of the Island - but will be monitoring it in future.
The trustees of the Manx Museum and National Trust say they turned down a chance to buy the old Castletown Police station, which is now on the open market.
The trust says it will consult throughout the planning process and argue the building's registered status is kept.
Edmund Southworth of Manx National Heritage says attempts to transfer the building within government were unsuccessful - and the organisation doesn't have the cash required to pay the £250,000 asking price.
