It’s hoped the new sewage treatment works for Peel will be completed within the next 10 years.
Liberal Vannin leader Peter Karran asked for an update on the timescale of the works in yesterday’s sitting of the House of Keys.
The major undertaking forms part of Phase 2 of the Regional Sewage Treatment Strategy and is still subject to funding approval from Tynwald.
As it stands the works are earmarked to take place between 2018 and 2023, however this could be brought forward if costs can be contained within the Budget for the first phase of the strategy.
