High Bailiff John Needham has been appointed as the Island's Second Deemster.
Mr Needham - who is the Isle of Man's third most senior judge - has served in his role since 2010.
He will replace Andrew Corlett, who took up the post as First Deemster in September.
The official swearing in for the new appointment is to be scheduled at a later date.
