New Economic Development Minister sets out priorities

Rebuilding confidence amongst the business community is the new Economic Development Minister's top priority.

Laurence Skelly says he is hopeful he can continue the work of his predecessor John Shimmin.

Yesterday he was appointed to take over the role which was left vacant following the West Douglas MHK's resignation.

Mr Skelly has only been a Minister since March - Mr Shimmin had been in charge of Economic Development since 2011.

He says political reshuffles can have a damaging effect on confidence in the private sector:
