A new adoption Act could become law sooner than expected if approval is granted next month.
The Adoption Act 2021 will be enforced on July 1, but at the June Tynwald sitting it could have its regulations approved – nine in total and six to be agreed.
The modernised adoption law will simplify the process for children and adoptive families, reducing delays.
Children’s views will also be taken into account for the first time during every stage.
