Isle of Man Meats has thrown away almost two tonnes of meat so far this month.
The figures were given by Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister Clare Barber in Tynwald.
She faced questions from North Douglas MHK David Ashford about meat disposals at the Braddan facility.
Mrs Barber said stock management errors meant the plant had disposed of 1,859kg of meat.
