Nearly 900 people are reported as being on waiting lists for public housing.
That's according to figures given by Infrastructure Minister Tim Crookall, in response to a Tynwald question for written reply from Rushen MHK Juan Watterson.
Of the 899 total recorded at the end of March this year, 210 were applicants for older persons' housing.
Mr Watterson wanted to know the figures broken down by housing authority - the highest number were in Douglas with 220, followed by the Department of Infrastructure's Housing Agency with 109 applicants.
