Nearly £50k in relocation costs repaid to government

Chief Minister Alf Cannan says almost £50,000 in relocation costs has been repaid to government after staff left.

In Tynwald this week, he faced questions from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse about the payments since 2023.

Mr Cannan said 364 people had been paid a total of £2.1 million to move to the Island and work for government.

But he said almost one in seven had since left and money was being paid back:
