NAMA to open Manx museum in Wisconsin

The North American Manx Association is celebrating its 51st convention in Wisconsin with the opening of the first North American Manx Museum.

Coupled with the four-day festival, the museum is devised to educate local people on their Manx heritage and preserve local artifacts.

The idea for a permanent museum was revived in 2009 after an increased local interest in Manx migratory history.

Organisers believe that the museum is a good fit and helps tell the story of southwest Wisconsin, which was populated with an influx of Manx migrants during the nineteenth and early twentieth century.

We’ll have more on that story on Wednesday's news updates.
