The Manx Utilities Authority says it doesn’t sell gas to Manx Gas at a loss, and figures provided to the House of Keys weren’t clear.
In Keys this week, MUA chairman Dr Alex Allinson was asked a question for written reply about the price charged to the Island’s natural gas supplier.
A table of figures shows ‘the average price for natural gas sold by Manx Utilities to Manx Gas for each of the last five years’.
However, the MUA now says the table should show the price paid by the MUA on behalf of Manx Gas – and says it simply passes on the costs with no extra charge.
