The head of the Manx utilities Authority says installing water meters in Island homes would mean higher bills for households.
This week in Tynwald, Dr Alex Allinson MHK faced questions about metering from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse.
He wanted to know if the MUA had looked into charging customers via meters.
Dr Allinson said a recent report had found the move wouldn't save enough money to be worthwhile:
