A local mother is appealing to young pedestrians to pay extra care and attention when crossing the roads.
Yvonne Moore is launching the campaign following an incident earlier in the year involving her son.
Billy, who was in Year 7 at the time of the accident, suffered a severe break to his left femur - regarded as one of the toughest bones in the body to break.
Yvonne will be speaking to teenagers this evening at the Manx Motor Meet which is being held in the Bowl car park between 7.30pm and 10pm.
Following extensive treatment he has made a full recovery, however she concedes that it could have been a different story.
