Police say more vehicle checks can be expected as days get shorter over the coming weeks and months.
As a result, the constabulary is asking motorists to check their vehicle lights to make sure they're working and be aware of how visible they are to other road users in the event of dusky or poor conditions.
Officers say these checks will also apply to cyclists.
Authorities took to social media to issue the message.
