The Island's sports development manager has echoed government’s concern that the child obesity problem on the Island is escalating out of control.
Levels of obesity in Manx youngsters are understood to be as dangerously high as any region in the UK.
Authorities believe this could push health services beyond the brink over the coming years.
The NSC currently runs a series of programmes for overweight children who have been referred by a doctor.
