Manx National Heritage has paid £25,000 for a silver hip flask given to the first ever TT winner.
The flask was given to Rem Fowler in 1907 and was put up for sale at Bonhams in the UK.
It had previously been on display during the TT centenary in 2007, and MNH director Edmund Southworth says he was worried it might be sold and leave the British Isles.
But the organisation says it used reserve funds to buy it and bring it back to the Island, and could put it on display again in time for TT 2019.
