The Council of Ministers is set to meet today to discuss additional cost of living support.
It comes following an announcement that gas prices will increase by 44% from September.
The government has already announced another £2.8 million support package that will go to those most vulnerable this autumn.
Today's extraordinary meeting will determine what broader support can be offered to those not eligible for those payments, but who are still affected by rising costs.
