There are no plans to introduce heavier sentences on those committing racially-charged offences.
That's according to Home Affairs Minister Bill Malarkey, who faced questions from Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper in Tynwald yesterday.
Mr Hooper asked if the department plans to allow harsher punishments for those who commit racially-motivated crimes.
Mr Malarkey said although currently there aren't any proposals to change sentencing law, it will be added to the list of issues to be considered.
