The treasury minister says he doesn't know of any Manx laws regulating charity donations made at shop tills.
Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse asked Chris Thomas about them in a Tynwald question for written reply, and wanted to know whether these donations stay on Island.
Mr Thomas says donations made through schemes like those allowing customers to round up purchases are a matter for the retailers and charities involved.
He added treasury doesn't collect information about these schemes, and they may involve both Island and UK charities.
