The Liberal Vannin Party is calling for an external independent audit of Noble’s Hospital.
It’s after South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft published a letter from a hospital clinician which highlighted a number of concerns about healthcare provision.
The letter, which was sent anonymously, accuses Noble’s of bearing similarities to the scandal hit Mid-Staffordshire NHS Trust.
The last review of the hospital was carried out in 2006 and Mrs Beecroft says she doesn’t understand why the Department of Health is ‘dragging its heels’.
She’s now set up the Isle of Man Health and Care Association which will be assisted by Dr Lynne Hulme who worked as a non-executive director at the Staffordshire hospital after the Francis Enquiry.
