Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse tabled the Tynwald question for written reply from Enterprise Minister Tim Johnston.
He wants to know if there's a process for the tender of contracts to provide transport, entertainment, food and other supplies to visiting ships.
The minister has until Thursday, October 16 to respond.
