The Health and Social Care Minister has cited the lengthy process of due diligence behind an apparent hold up in Mannin Cancers planned centre at Nobles Hospital.
He was asked in Keys this week for a progress update on the plans by Douglas North MHK David Ashford.
Mannin Cancers plan to build and operate an information and support centre that will be based on the Nobles Hospital site - it was hoped they'd break ground in June this year, with a completion date of late 2024, but as yet no work has commenced.
Mr Ashford said he fears its development is not a priority for Minister Hooper, and stressed how important it is, in light of ever increasing numbers of cancer cases:
