A local company is sponsoring a mental health training agency to deliver courses across the Island's secondary schools.
'Manx Minds' will be delivering training to around 175 sixth formers this Autumn.
The mental health agency believes there is currently no proper training offered to students on how to deal with mental health issues and how to help friends who are struggling.
Tower Insurance approached Manx Minds to fund the initiative as 1 in 4 people on Island are affected by mental illness.
The training will be delivered as a half day course for 25 students at each school, including University College Isle of Man and King William's College.
