Two men have been fined after wrestling on the floor of a Douglas bar.
David Allan Jeff and Michael Kenneth Mcgovern started scrapping after a verbal disagreement in Nexus on March 4th.
The 28-year-old and 37-year-old became involved in a dispute just after midnight before it escalated and had to be broken up by other revellers.
At Douglas Courthouse this week both men pleaded guilty to displaying disorderly behaviour on licensed premises.
Jeff's advocate told the court his client, who lives on Loch Promenade in Douglas, had felt "provoked" adding "he accepts he reacted and a scuffle broke out".
Mcgovern's advocate told the court his client, who lives on Kirk Edward Road in Onchan, was "embarrassed to have been involved".
Sentencing the duo Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes told both men she'd treat it as a "one off incident" adding "alcohol is at the root of this offence".
She fined Jeff £500 and Mcgovern £600 and ordered both to pay prosecution costs of £62.50.
