The newly formed Manx Landlords' Association says the new look ‘Landlords and Tenants Bill’ will only serve to create more bureaucracy and make it harder to invest in the industry.
The Department of Social Care has been consulting on plans to target a minority of people who offer poor standards of accommodation.
The Bill would introduce a minimum set of living standard requirements that must be adhered to in order to operate as a landlord.
It also would mean landlords could no longer stipulate who they could and couldn’t take in their properties.
