Manx gas works will cause traffic disruption

Plans in place for residential development on the former grounds of Colby Football Club will likely result in some traffic disruption in the area next month while Manx Gas provides a new mains network for customers moving to the area.

The gas main will run from Main Road to the building site in Glen Road, with work taking place from the 4th September until around the 18th September.

The majority of the groundwork will be undertaken with the aid of a traffic control system, minimising congestion and providing access to properties for residents in the affected area.

Signage will also be placed in the area of Glen Road, informing all residents of any disruption to traffic flow and diverting them to alternative routes.

The road will eventually be closed between 9.00am and 4.00pm daily until the work has been completed.

For further information, the public are advised to contact Steve Moorley on 644473 or the Manx Gas Operations Department on 644489.
