A man’s been ordered to do community service after admitting trying to have more than £1,000 worth of cannabis posted to him.
Richard Spencer Pearce of Glen Road Terrace in Laxey appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
At an earlier hearing, the 50 year old admitted possessing cannabis as well as producing it to the Isle of Man.
Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the hearing postal workers alerted police about a suspicious parcel on August 20 last year – when it was opened, officers found drugs worth £1,064.
A later search of his home found cannabis with a street value of £3.65.
Mrs Hughes ordered him to do a total of 180 hours unpaid work, as well as ordering him to pay £125 costs.
