A man will spend a year on probation after trying to have £450 worth of cannabis sent to him through the post.
Daniel James Glassey of Palace View Terrace in Douglas appeared before Deputy High Bailiff James Brooks at Douglas Courthouse.
At an earlier hearing, the 31 year old admitted possessing cannabis and cocaine on October 4 last year and producing cannabis to the Island on September 29.
Prosecutor Rachael Braidwood told the court post office staff spotted a suspicious parcel, and called police - it turned out to contain 15 grammes of cannabis.
When police went to his home to arrest him, they found small amounts of cannabis and cocaine.
Glassey’s advocate told the court his client, a self-employed decorator, had the drugs for his own personal use.
Mr Brooks ordered him to spend 12 months on probation and do 40 hours of community service as well as pay £125 costs.
