A man who was more than twice the legal cannabis limit refused to give a blood sample when he was stopped again a month later.
Shae Alexander Christiansen of Ballabrooie Way in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 21 year old pleaded guilty to drug-driving on March 3 and failing to provide a specimen on April 3.
Prosecutor Roger Kane told the court Christiansen’s Peugeot was stopped by police in March and they arrested him after he failed a drug wipe test.
A blood sample gave a reading of 4.6 microgrammes per litre of THC – the legal limit is 2.
In April, police stopped him at Hillberry on the Mountain Road after noticing a faulty light, but he refused to take a test after they smelled cannabis in the car.
Magistrates bailed him in the sum of £500 and he’ll appear in court again for sentencing on September 15.
