A man's been jailed after admitting punching his sister in a drunken attack.
Charlton Gary Andrew Watterson of Empire Terrace in Douglas appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
The 24 year old admitted assault causing actual bodily harm on August 30 in a lane at the back of Derby Road in Douglas.
Prosecutor Roger Kane said Watterson and his sister had been drinking together before walking into Douglas town centre from Willaston - they argued and witnesses said Watterson had punched his sister twice in an attack lasting 20 minutes.
Watterson's advocate told the court his client had only punched the woman once, and denied suggestions he'd stamped on her.
The court heard unemployed Watterson had numerous previous convictions, including inflicting grievous bodily harm on the same woman.
Mrs Hughes jailed him for a total of 20 weeks and banned him from purchasing alcohol for the next 12 months.
