A pizza-delivery driver from Ramsey has been fined after test driving a car with no insurance.
23-year-old Luke Geoffrey Pickup, from Mooragh Promenade, admitted the offence at Douglas Courthouse earlier this week.
Police stopped him on November 4th last year at Governor's Bridge on the Mountain Road - he was driving a VW Golf which belonged to the person in the passenger seat.
Pickup told officers his insurance covered him to drive other vehicles in a third party capacity - however it transpired this was only valid if the owner of the vehicle had insurance.
In this case he wasn't covered as the car owner was a disqualified driver.
Magistrates fined him £200 and ordered him to pay costs of £50 - his licence was also endorsed with six penalty points.
