A man’s been fined after an unprovoked attack on a car salesman.
Richard Malcolm Powell of Lhergy Cripperty in Union Mills appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
He denied assault causing actual bodily harm and stealing a mobile phone at BCC Cars in Kirk Michael on December 20, 2020.
Powell, who represented himself, was found guilty of the attack after a trial, although magistrates found him not guilty of stealing the phone.
After hearing Powell had previous convictions for threatening behaviour, theft and driving without insurance, magistrates fined him £750 as well as ordering him to pay £1,025 costs and £250 compensation.
