A man who struggled with police after they responded to a 999 call about a late-night argument with his partner has been fined.
James Marcus Doherty of Marathon Drive in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 38 year old initially denied resisting officers on May 14 but changed his plea to guilty.
Prosecutor Barry Swain said police were called to his home on Robert Stevens Close shortly before 4.30am and found Doherty drunkenly arguing with his partner.
He became aggressive and abusive, and officers used incapacitant spray to subdue him.
His advocate told the hearing Doherty felt he was being unfairly arrested, but accepted his behaviour had been poor.
He was fined £600 and ordered to pay £125 costs.
