Man admits possessing indecent images of children

A court’s heard a man from Douglas was found to have 1,000 indecent images of children.

Jonathan Heard of Loch Promenade in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.

The 46 year old pleaded guilty to four counts of possessing indecent images of children on October 8.

Prosecutor Roger Kane said police had examined a mobile phone and a hard drive and found both still and moving images, adding most were the least serious according to a police scale.

Mr Kane said a further 26 devices were currently under examination by investigators.

Magistrates said Heard was obsessed with viewing the images and remanded him in custody to appear in court again on November 12.
