Roderick Aquino-Nielsen of Broogh Wyllin appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
The 49-year-old denies theft between October and November 2019.
Prosecutor Hazel Carroon told the hearing the 49 year old traded in banknotes, and is said to have kept a number sent to him by another dealer.
Mr Aquino-Nielsen was bailed to appear in court again at a pre-trial review hearing on January 11.
