A malicious attack on the government website on Friday was not 'uncommon'.
The website went down following a 'distributed denial of service' attack.
The e-Services team say whilst disruptive and inconveniencing it is not unusual and was focused on flooding target services with large volumes of traffic.
No data or systems were breached as a result of the incident and the team has reiterated that it was not a hacking attempt.
The website is now running as normal.
