Kerbside collections of paper in Malew have been scrapped with immediate effect.
The local authority says the move has been made because the volume of collections has reduced 'dramatically' and as a result the service is no longer financially viable.
However, officials are encouraging residents to continue to recycle at the 'bring banks' located in the parish.
Grass collections in the area have now also stopped for the year - a decision on when and if this service will recommence will be made in due course.
