The government says it's taking a major step towards the construction of a new school on an empty site in the capital.
Department of Education, Sport and Culture proposals for Park Road in central Douglas will be laid before Tynwald this month - they involve a new primary school with capacity for around 350 children.
The grounds used to be occupied by St Ninian's Lower School and have been unused since its demolition in 2013, with students moving to Bemahague in Onchan.
Education Minister Daphne Caine says the new project would provide a modern, energy-efficient school.
