Mail decreases as stamp prices prepare to rise

Mail volumes in the Isle of Man have declined by nine per cent in the last year – four per cent above the forecasted rate.

The Post Office says due to people sending less it’s being forced to put up prices for local and UK letters.

The price of a local stamp will rise by 2p from April 2 and a UK-bound letter will cost a penny more.

Parcelforce and international services are also being affected.

Despite the increases the Post Office says prices remain cheaper than the UK and Channel Islands.
