Magnetic Hill video narrowly avoids disaster!

A driver's released a video of one of the Island's best-known optical illusions at work - which almost ended with a bang!

Dave Mackey of Douglas went to Magnetic Hill on the Ronague Road to demonstrate how it works.

But after his car seemed to start rolling uphill, he had to leap inside to prevent it ending up in a ditch.

The illusion is caused by the surrounding landscape, making the downhill slope look as though it runs uphill.

In the comments on the video, people joke the magnets were working too well!
