Government needs to get its priorities right – that’s according to the Liberal Vannin Party after it emerged Island students may have to pay tuition fees.
The Department of Education and Children is putting proposals to Tynwald next month which if approved would see all students pay at least £2,500 per year towards their education.
Party leader Peter Karran says it's a step backwards and could result in only the rich being able to afford to go to university.
He says although there is no denying cuts have to be made there are other areas which should be targeted.
