Local businesses asked to support One World Centre

Local businesses are being urged to help support the One World Centre to ensure future staff members are clued up about world issues.

It follows news that the Manx charity is losing almost three fifths of its annual income after government slashed its support. 

From September the centre will be around £15,000 worse off after the Department of Education and Children stopped a service user agreement. 

The money had been used to fund in school activities for children and the training of teachers to encourage and raise awareness of global, economic, social and political issues.

Director Rosemary Clarke says a small investment now could reap big rewards in the future:
