Minimum wage may soon be a thing of the past, as living wage may soon be introduced to the Island.
The new proposed wage would see hourly pay rise to £8.61, £1.11 more than the current minimum wage of £7.50 an hour.
The increased earnings hope to enable people to spend more time with family and friends and have a better work-life balance.
Companies can choose whether or not to adapt living wage as it is voluntary, in contrast to the current minimum wage.
The rate has already been established in the UK for many years, where the minimum pay is £8.45 an hour.
The introduction of the new plan will be discussed at the next Tynwald sitting later this month.
