A new living wage has been approved by Tynwald this week.
The rate is set at £8.61 an hour.
It is the first time Tynwald has approved a living wage for Island residents.
Companies don't have to adopt it as it is non-mandatory, unlike the minimum wage rate of £7.50 an hour.
