Lifeboat and coastguard volunteers were called into action at the weekend when a dog chasing a ball got into difficulties.
The incident happened on Saturday afternoon, as Douglas lifeboat was out on an exercise.
Her crew returned to the harbour, where the dog was in distress near the inner leading light after being swept into the water.
Volunteers plucked the dog - who was unharmed - to safety, and returned it to its owner.
