Ramsey RNLI volunteers have assisted a man with serious injuries yesterday morning.
The call came by request of the Liverpool Coastguard – where two volunteer RNLI crewmembers climbed aboard a fishing vessel with medical equipment to stabilise the casualty.
A rescue helicopter from RAF Valley arrived on the scene where a paramedic was lowered to treat the man with the assistance of the lifeboat crew.
Due to the nature of his injuries, he was then airlifted from the vessel directly to a specialised unit in the UK for treatment.
No further details of the casualty’s condition are currently known.
