The Steam Packet Company says it believes an “error of judgement” was to blame for the Ben-my-Chree crashing.
The vessel had to undergo emergency repair work after it collided with the linkspan in Douglas Harbour on Wednesday evening.
Services are now operating as normal and the Steam Packet Company says the repairs will last until the boat next goes into dry dock.
Chief executive Mark Woodward says he’s surprised things like this don’t happen more often:
