A man from Zimbabwe who admitted assaulting his partner has been jailed for two months and banned from the Island for five years.
Simbarashe Joseph Jingo admitted the offence, which took place on October 15, when he appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes this week.
The court heard he'd grabbed his partner by the throat and threatened to kill her during a row at their home in Highfield Crescent in Onchan.
Mrs Hughes jailed him for eight weeks, and ordered him to be detained pending his exclusion.
