Only One Island Beach Suitable for Bathing
The Isle of Man has come off rather badly in the recent Good Beach Guide carried out by the Marine Conservation Society.
Only one beach has been deemed suitable for bathing on, that’s Derbyhaven in Castletown.
The other beaches around the Island have been found to have a general poor quality of water, affected by badly treated continuous waste water discharges.
Five Island beaches including Douglas and Laxey failed the minimum legal water quality standard.
